Surfaces - Granite

An excellent choice for kitchen countertops. Granite, quarried from the mountains of Italy, the U.S., India, and dozens of other countries around the world, is one of the most popular natural stones on the market.
Available in a striking array of colors, granite's durability and longevity make it ideal for kitchen and bath countertops.
A leading consumer magazine recently compared granite with engineered stone, ceramic tile, laminate, butcher block, and other manufactured surfaces. Granite received the highest overall performance rating as a kitchen countertop material.

Granite FAQs

Does granite have to be sealed?
Granite is a porous product that requires some sealing periodically. Though natural stone varies in density, some stones need to be sealed more than others. We recommend to our customers that they seal their granite annually.

How do I seal my granite?
Contact Division9 for sealing instruction.

How do I care for natural stone?
Caring for natural stone is very easy. There are numerous natural stone cleaners on the market. Save your money. Warm water, mild dishwashing liquid and a soft cloth are all that is needed to care for your natural stone surface. Never use abrasive cleaners on polished surfaces. Do not use vinegar, lemon juice or bleach or other cleaners containing acid on marble or limestone. You will need to have Division9 reseal once a year.

How long will it take to get my countertops in my home?
Please contact our office.

Do my cabinets need to be reinforced before the natural stone countertops can be installed?
Generally, no. But in some cases, with very old cabinets, they may require reinforcement. Division9 will evaluate the need to reinforce at the time of measurement.

How will the countertop seam be placed?
The seam will be placed in the center of sink in most cases. However, stone density and home configuration may dictate seam location in some instances.

How is the granite chosen?
It is best if the home owner chooses the raw material at our location. In some cases, the home owner can also be referred to a granite yard.
